Three Little Words That Will Sabotage Your Goals & Set You up to Fail

These three little words will sabotage your goals & almost always set you up to fail.

People who fail to achieve goals signal their intent to fail by using this common phrase. Don’t fall into this trap.

In my early 20’s I dived headlong into personal growth and over time came to appreciate how much my words and thoughts impact my life and or the business outcomes I wanted to achieve.

Throughout the years, I have made a huge effort to focus on thoughts and words that support my life and those around me. But once upon a time, I gave little thought to words and the impact they had over me and others.

There are three little words in the English language that are more deceptive, both to the person who says them and the person who hears them. You may have been guilty of using this phase also.

People who fail to achieve goals, or complete tasks almost always signal their intent to fail by using three little words:

“I will try…”

People who say “I will try” have given themselves permission to fail. No matter what happens, they can always claim they “tried.”

More often than not, the people who use the phase regularly, know exactly their intentions and their lack of desire to follow through. People who really and truly achieve goals never say “I will try.”

Sadly, the people who hear "I will try" often don't realise what it really means and are being fooled by thinking there's a chance that the speaker will actually follow through on their promise.

As a wise woman once said: “Do, or do not. There is no ‘try.’”

How often do you use this phase?  What will you replace it with?
